Glass Infrared Panels

Delivering consistent warmth and sleek designs that perfectly integrate into modern interiors, these glass infrared panels are finished in both white and black toughened glass. Ideal for kitchens, living rooms and commercial spaces with their designer appearance and targeted heating approach.

Sleek, efficient and decorative, our infrared glass panels are a modern form of residential and commercial heating, with targeted technology that works fast and provides lasting comfort. These panels consist of a tempered glass surface with an integrated infrared heating element behind it, allowing them to emit heat evenly across the room while also functioning as a stylish feature on the wall or ceiling.

They blend seamlessly into contemporary spaces with clean lines and light styles that offer a decorative touch to modern heating. In addition to their aesthetic appeal, glass infrared panels provide effective, direct warmth by heating people, furniture, and surrounding surfaces rather than relying on air circulation, which helps reduce heat loss and maintains a more stable indoor temperature.

Great for a wide range of spaces from living rooms to spas and retail shops, they offer an easy-to-maintain heating solution that targets the areas that need it most for less energy consumption. Browse our range and enjoy white and black finishes to suit your space.

When correctly sized, glass infrared panels provide reliable, low maintenance heating while supporting lower energy consumption. To determine the most suitable output for your space, use our wattage calculator.

Suitable applications

Infrared heating is suitable for both domestic and commercial spaces, particularly in environments where traditional heating systems are inefficient or costly to run. By heating people and surfaces directly rather than warming the surrounding air, infrared provides a more targeted and energy efficient way to heat a space.

This approach makes infrared heating especially effective in rooms with high ceilings, open layouts or intermittent use, while remaining adaptable to different room sizes and usage requirements. With discreet designs and advanced control options, infrared heating integrates easily into both modern interiors and demanding commercial environments.

Why Choose Infrared Heating?

Far infrared heating delivers comfortable, even warmth by heating people and surfaces directly. This results in lower running costs, improved comfort and a healthier indoor environment.

Control infrared heaters with a smart thermostat

Control your heating with smart thermostats

Glass infrared panels do not include a built in thermostat and require an external thermostat for temperature control.

When paired with an external thermostat, glass panels can be controlled via a wall mounted controller or mobile app, with scheduling and timer functions to manage comfort and energy use. Our smart thermostat is ideal where precise control is required.

External thermostats are also well suited where multiple glass panels are installed, allowing grouped control across rather than adjusting each heater individually.

Are glass infrared panels expensive to run?

Infrared glass panels are not expensive to run when correctly sized and controlled. Unlike traditional radiators that heat the air, infrared panels warm people and surfaces directly. This allows rooms to feel comfortable at lower air temperatures, reducing overall energy use.

In real UK homes, this often results in:

  • Shorter daily run times
  • Lower overall electricity consumption
  • Comfortable warmth without overheating

Running cost example:
If your electricity costs £0.20 per kWh, a 450W glass infrared panel would cost around 9p per hour when running at full output (0.45 kW × £0.20). In practice, thermostats cycle the panel on and off, so the average cost is usually lower.

Actual running costs depend on room size, insulation, ceiling height and how the space is used. For a full breakdown, see our guides on infrared heating running costs and compare infrared against traditional heating.

To size your room accurately and avoid overspending, use our wattage calculator.

Installation & maintenance

Glass infrared panel heaters are designed for simple and secure wall installation, making them suitable for a wide range of domestic and commercial environments. Each panel includes pre installed mounting brackets, allowing it to be fixed neatly to a suitable wall surface with minimal disruption.

These panels are supplied with a standard 13 amp three pin plug for straightforward installation. For greater control and a cleaner finish, they can also be hardwired to the mains via a compatible thermostat and fused spur, allowing the heating to be managed by room or zone.

Glass infrared panels contain no moving parts and require no ongoing maintenance. To keep the surface clean, the panel can be wiped with a soft, damp cloth once it has been switched off and allowed to cool.

Full installation guidance is provided with each heater. If you are unsure about mounting positions, electrical connection options or control compatibility, our team can advise based on your space and heating requirements.

Warranty & peace of mind

All infrared heaters supplied by Infrared Heating Supplies are covered by a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty for added peace of mind. This warranty applies to products installed and used in accordance with the supplied instructions.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects and faults under normal operating conditions. Full warranty terms and coverage details are provided with each product, and our team is available to assist in the unlikely event of a fault.

Frequently asked questions

What are infrared glass heating panels and how do they work?
Infrared glass heating panels use radiant heat to warm people and surfaces directly rather than heating the air. The tempered glass surface contains an integrated heating element that emits infrared energy, which is absorbed by walls, floors and furnishings and then gently released back into the room.
What are the benefits of infrared glass panel heaters?
Glass panel heaters are considered a good heating option for modern homes and commercial spaces because they combine efficient infrared heating with a sleek, contemporary design. They provide direct radiant warmth to people and objects rather than just heating the air, which can create a comfortable and consistent indoor temperature, especially in well-insulated rooms.
Are infrared glass panels suitable for all spaces?
Glass infrared panels are best suited to indoor, enclosed spaces such as living rooms, bedrooms and offices. They are designed for wall mounting and are not intended for very large open areas or outdoor use.
How much do glass panel heaters cost to run?
How much they cost to run depends mainly on electricity prices, room size, insulation, and how long they are used. Because they heat people and surfaces directly rather than warming all the air in a space, they can be more efficient in well-insulated rooms or when used for zoned heating, which can help reduce overall energy consumption. For example, a 350 W glass panel running at £0.18 per kWh costs approximately £0.06 per hour when active. Thermostatic control helps reduce overall running time.
Do infrared glass panels need a thermostat?
Yes. Glass infrared panels do not include a built in thermostat and should be connected to an external thermostat for temperature control. This allows accurate regulation, scheduling and improved energy efficiency.
Are infrared glass panel heaters safe?
Yes, they are very safe, as they're designed with toughened safety glass and built-in temperature controls that prevent overheating. Because they use infrared radiant heat rather than exposed flames or hot fuel systems, they operate silently and without combustion, reducing risks associated with gas heating.
