Control Your Infrared Heaters with our Smart Thermostat

Our infrared mirror heating panels are compatible with our smart thermostats, providing you with control over a app as well as a wall mounted thermostat. You can easily turn the panel on or off, set the desired temperature, and schedule heating times with the 7-day timer feature. This ensures your space is always warm when you need it and helps optimize energy usage, making your heating system even more efficient and cost-effective. To connect the thermostat, you must hardwire the panel to thermostat and the mains. We recommend using a electrician to comply with regulations and safety standards

How do infrared mirror heaters work?

The infrared mirror heating technology employed in our IR mirror panels ensures that heat is radiated directly to objects and warm up people in the room giving a nice and comfortable warmth, rather than wasting energy on heating the air. A conventional heater will produce hot air that swirls around the room, bringing with it dust particles and a lot of wasted energy, but when a door is opened all the warm air is replaced with the cold air, therefore the heater must start again to warm up the room. This not only results in Infrared being a more energy efficient heating solution but also eliminates the circulation of dust and allergens, making it an ideal choice for those with respiratory sensitivities. The radiant heat also means faster and more efficient heating, resulting in lower energy consumption and reduced heating costs. The IR panel is the perfect energy-efficient, eco-friendly heating solution

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do mirror infrared panels work?

Mirror infrared panels combine reflective surfaces with infrared heating technology. They emit far-infrared radiation that directly warms objects and individuals in the room, rather than heating the air. This dual-purpose design offers both a functional mirror and an efficient heating solution.

Are mirror infrared panels suitable for bathroom installations?

Yes, many mirror infrared panels are designed for use in bathrooms. When installed correctly, they can prevent condensation build-up on the mirror surface, ensuring a clear reflection even in humid conditions. It's essential to ensure the mirror heater is installed in compliance with electrical regulations.

How safe are mirror infrared panels?

Mirror infrared panels are generally safe when installed and used according to the manufacturer's instructions. They operate at high temperatures but are designed with safety features to prevent hazards. However, it's advisable to avoid prolonged direct contact with the heated surface.

How long does the infrared mirror heater mirror last?
Our infrared heater mirrors are designed to last for many years with proper care. High-quality models typically have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. Regular maintenance such as cleaning the surface and checking the electrical connections will help ensure your mirror heater lasts longer.

Can infrared mirror heaters help with condensation on mirrors?
Yes! One of the key benefits of infrared heater mirrors is their ability to reduce condensation. The heat from the mirror prevents fogging, keeping your reflection clear, even in humid environments like bathrooms.

Are mirror infrared panels energy-efficient?

Yes, mirror infrared panels are known for their energy efficiency. By directly heating objects and people rather than the air, they reduce heat loss and provide consistent warmth, potentially leading to energy savings compared to traditional heating methods

How do I clean and maintain an infrared heater mirror?
Infrared heater mirrors require minimal maintenance. Simply use a soft cloth to wipe away dust and dirt. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they could damage the mirror surface. For long-term care, ensure there’s no dust build-up that could affect the performance of your mirror heater.

Can infrared mirror heaters be used in large spaces?
Yes! Infrared mirror heaters can be used in larger spaces, but you’ll need to install multiple panels. Make sure to choose the right wattage and number of panels to effectively heat the area.

How much space can an infrared mirror heater cover?
The coverage area depends on the size and power of the heater. Typically, a standard heater mirror can heat small to medium-sized rooms. Use our Wattage calculator to see what wattage is required for your space

How quickly do mirror infrared panels heat up a room?

Mirror infrared panels reach their operating temperature rapidly, often within a few minutes. However, the time taken to heat a room depends on factors such as room size, insulation quality, and ambient temperature.

Are mirror infrared panels expensive to run?

Mirror infrared panels are not expensive to run when correctly sized and controlled. By heating people and surfaces directly rather than the air, infrared mirror panels allow bathrooms and hallways to feel warm at lower air temperatures while also helping to reduce condensation.

In real UK homes, this often results in:

  • Lower energy use compared to towel rails or fan heaters
  • Reduced condensation and damp
  • Comfortable, even warmth without overheating

Running cost example:
If your electricity costs £0.20 per kWh, a 580W mirror infrared panel would cost around 12p per hour when running at full output (0.58 kW × £0.20). With thermostatic control, the panel cycles on and off, keeping average running costs lower.

Actual running costs depend on room size, insulation, ceiling height and how the space is used. For a full breakdown, see our guides on infrared heating running costs and compare infrared against traditional heating.
